We believe that being a part of a vibrant, active church means having plenty of opportunities to serve both the church and our community. We believe that every church body has many different parts with many different gifts. (1 Cor. 12:12) We want you to be able to use the gifts which God has given you.
WHERE WILL YOU SERVE?
Here are some ideas. To get involved, contact our church staff or church office.
Be the first face people see at Salem First Baptist. Welcome newcomers into our church and help them find a place to belong.
Do you love spending time with people? Would you "adopt" a senior? Our Caring Hands ministry connects volunteers with older individuals from our church who are not able to join us for weekend services. Share your time and hear stories from a life of memories.
Be a part of culinary arts with a great team. Volunteers are always needed and must be certified as State Food Service Workers. This team provides catering services for special occasions and meetings, Upward basketball canteen, and community affairs.
Do you have a passion for good coffee? Come serve as a barista! Open from 8:30-10:30 every Sunday morning, this coffee stop is a fantastic way to build community and serve the church.
Help beautify the church grounds by joining the landscape crew. Do you love the outdoors? Whether you have a green thumb or just enjoy getting your hands dirty, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a visible difference in our community. This crew meets two Saturday mornings a month. You'll get the chance to cultivate an inviting atmosphere around our church. Come join us in shaping the natural beauty that surrounds our space!
Help keep our congregation and building safe by serving on the security staff.
WHERE ELSE CAN YOU USE YOUR GIFTS?
We feel strongly that we should serve the community around us by renovating parks, sending teams to local retirement facilities for visits, or anything else we see the community might need. God calls us to serve in many different creative ways that can only be reached through your individual skills and talents.
